Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, established in 1942, is a national "Double First-Class" university and a high-level university in Jiangsu Province. Currently, the university has developed into an institution primarily focused on engineering, characterized by electronic information, with a multidisciplinary approach and coordinated development across various levels of education, including postdoctoral, doctoral, master's, and undergraduate programs. The university has 7 postdoctoral research stations, 11 doctoral degree programs in first-level disciplines, 23 master's degree  programs in first-level disciplines, and 53 undergraduate programs. It is one of the first academic member universities of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and undertakes training tasks for the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) in China, actively participating in the formulation of international standards related to the telecommunications field.

Currently, six disciplines have entered the top 1% of the ESI subject rankings globally, with 27 first-class majors recognized at the national level. The university has over 30,000 enrolled students and more than 3,000 faculty and staff members, including over 1,300 supervisors for doctoral and master's students. Over the past 84 years, the university has trained more than 290,000 outstanding talents for the nation, many of whom have become leaders, technical elites, and key management figures in the information industry and public health sectors, earning the reputation as "the cradle of IT talents in China." The university currently recruits international students at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, with students coming from over 70 countries, including Russia and Kazakhstan, totaling more than 1,000 international students.
