Fudan University has admitted international students for over 50 years. Founded in May 1987, its School of International Cultural Exchange (SICE) — dubbed a "Mini United Nations" — hosts 3,000+ international learners yearly (undergrads, postgrads, language trainees & short-term students) from all over the world, specializing in Chinese language and culture instruction.

SICE has a 50-strong professional faculty with diverse academic backgrounds, a well-structured graded TCFL teaching system, and remarkable academic outputs including 100+ monographs and influential textbook series.

Approved in 1993, its undergraduate program (Chinese Language for International Students, 200+ on-campus students) falls under Renzhong College; it launched MA in TCFL in 2006 and Professional Master’s in International Chinese Education in 2009, with 120+ postgrads worldwide.

SICE advances global exchanges via student exchanges, joint programs, overseas teaching sites and faculty postings abroad, plus offers faculty advisors, annual cultural study tours and diverse campus activities to support international students.
