About Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU)

Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU) is a provincial key university jointly administered by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education of China.

Rooted in the forestry departments of Central University (1902) and the University of Nanking (1910), NJFU was founded as Nanjing Forestry College in 1952. It adopted its current name in 1985 and was selected into China’s “Double First-Class” University Initiative in 2017.

NJFU enjoys outstanding strengths in forestry, ecological and environmental studies. In the 4th National Discipline Evaluation, Forestry Engineering, Forestry, and Landscape Architecture were all rated A-level, ranking first among China’s forestry universities and Jiangsu provincial universities.

The university offers a complete education system including 8 post-doctoral research stations, 46 doctoral programs, 115 master’s programs, and 74 undergraduate programs. It has more than 30,000 full-time students, including 6,200 graduate and international students.

Supported by top-level research platforms including a national engineering center, NJFU has undertaken hundreds of national research projects and won numerous national, ministerial and provincial science and technology awards.

NJFU maintains close partnerships with universities and institutions in over 30 countries, running joint programs such as 3+1, 3+2 and 3+1+1 with universities in Canada, Germany, the US and more. Each year, hundreds of NJFU students study abroad, and about 600 international students study and exchange at NJFU.
